Before thinking that prong collars are inhumane, I am telling you that certain dogs need a prong to learn how to walk on a lead. In our finding these are large breed "pullers". You do not have to pull or yank on it. Gentle 2 finger pressure is all you need. We like to use the star collar for those dogs. There are no metal prongs and works like a martingale collar. It applies gentle pressure made from rubberized plastic "prongs" with no pointed ends. The same tips in the video can be used for both type of collars. In general we do like and reccomend martingale collars.
